Carbon credits offset the GHG emissions associated with manufacturing, shipping, and retiring a computer from cradle to grave.

This term highlights that technology has more than one life or use. Through refurbishment and resale, the G4G IT program facilitates a second life for used technology that would otherwise be retired or sent to landfill.

The CleanProjects® Registry assigns each registered carbon credit a serial number. Carbon credits will remain in your company's name on the registry until you are ready to retire it/apply it against your corporate carbon footprint. Carbon credits are not transferable or re-useable once they are retired.

We collect and ship them to our secure facility, where our team triages them based on condition, age, and resale potential. Next, we wipe all data-bearing units according to NIST 800-88 Guidelines for Media Sanitization and issue of certificate of  data erasure corresponding to each device’s serial number. Lastly, we install a legal copy of Microsoft Windows onto the units and resell them into markets like education and SMBs.

We send technology that cannot be refurbished to the Green4Good IT Lifecycle Solutions program's approved R2v3 partners, to ensure environmentally responsible recycling.
